IPC Extension Task
Our topic for the the first summer term is called 'The Magic Toymaker'. Over this unit, the children will learn about toys and games through several different subjects - science, history, technology and gaining an international perspective. Please find a range of activities that you might like to complete at home to extend the children's learning.
1. History - find out about toys from the past. Research popular and common toys that people used to play with many years ago. Make a poster showing what the toy could do, what it looked like and how much it would cost. Remember to stay safe when searching online - visit our 'Online Safety' page for more information.
2. Technology - design and create some puppets. This could be finer puppets, sock puppets or string puppets. Put on a puppet show for your family or friends. Think about where the puppets will perform - will it be a theatre? What sort of backgrounds will you need? What will your puppets do?
3. Art - design a toy for the future. What will your toy do? What will it look like? You could create a painting, collage or drawing of it.
