Hello

I've had a query about the grammar exercise on ible/able   ibly/ably.  I hope my response below may help others amongst you.

It's a tricky one isn't it.  Sometimes I think the English language rules are just there to confuse us!

 

For 'able' if the word before it makes sense on its own then it will end in able not ible

eg, reason - reasonable   This could also be unreasonable with a prefix.

(The root word is the word that has a prefix or suffix on it)

I often say to children to say the word out loud and decide which just sounds best if they are unsure.

If it helps, the questions on page 16 use many of the words on page 14 and 15.
