The children finished their unit in Maths learning all about money. The children played ‘Shop Keepers’ to practise making totals and finding change.
The children have been practising their seated position skills in PE. They challenged themselves to sit with no hands or feet on the floor for more than 20 seconds.
Wow, what a start to the week! The children took part in lots of different activities in the forest school area this week. The children made brilliant dens, had a go at pond dipping, took part in some whittling and even tried to make a spark using flint! We made a big campfire and sang songs around it whilst drinking hot chocolate with squirts cream and marshmallows. What a treat!
The children made animal pictures this week in forest school. They used natural materials that they could find around them. Can you guess which animals they made?
The children went to the forest school area this week and worked in pairs to conduct a minibeast search. As a class, we found woodlice, worms, wasps, earwigs, ants and spiders!
This week the children have been using concrete resources in maths to support them with adding and subtracting. Together we looked at how we can check calculations using cubes, bead strings and number lines.
This week the children got messy making clay faces in the forest school area. They used sticks and leaves to add detail to their faces. The children also got hands on with their English work. We labelled parts of the playground with different types of sentences and the children had to listen carefully to sentences that we read out. They then ran to the correct part of the playground.
This week the children created their own obstacle course in PE. We were used our 'Damerel' skills to work as part of a team.
The children have had lots of fun this week exploring the forest school area. Check out the beautiful nature mandalas that they made
